What is a
WSET qualification?
A WSET qualification gives you a good understanding of the world of wines or spirits and its industry. In addition, you will learn to taste wine or spirits with one of the world’s most used approach to tasting, “WSET’s systematic approach” (SAT) as well as learning the English vocabulary of wine allowing you to communicate with producers and international actors.
WSET is divided into four levels, in both wines and spirits, each level builds upon the previous one giving you gradual learning of world of wine.
At The Wine Hub we teach the level 1, level 2 and level 3 programs, either in wine or spirits depending on your interest.

The different levels of
WSET award in wines
The Wine Hub is one of the official WSET qualification provider in Sweden, delivering 3 of the 4 levels in wine available in the world:
- WSET level 1 Award in Wines: a novice level
- WSET level 2 Award in Wines: a beginner – to intermediate level
- WSET level 3 Award in Wines: an advanced level
WSET level 1
WSET Level 1 in wines is perfect for wine enthusiasts eager to start their journey or professionals seeking foundational knowledge.
This entry-level course introduces basics like grape varieties, winemaking techniques, and tasting skills. Ideal for beginners, it equips participants with fundamental wine knowledge, fostering confidence in selecting and serving wines.
WSET level 2
This level is designed for individuals who possess a basic grasp of the geographical regions where wine is produced around the world and are eager to enhance their knowledge further.
On this beginner to intermediate level course, you will gain knowledge of the key and regionally important grape varieties and the styles of wine they produce across the globe.
WSET level 3
This level is tailored for those who have completed WSET Level 2 or are already engaged in the wine industry.
Building upon the knowledge gained at Level 2. You will acquire a thorough understanding of the factors influencing the style, quality and price of wines from key wine producing regions of the world. You will also develop analytical tasting skills.

- WSET level 1 Award in Spirits: a beginner level
- WSET level 2 Award in Spirits: an intermediate level
WSET level 1
The WSET level 1 Award in Spirits is a qualification for beginners intended for those who want to learn more about spirits in general. This course is a great introductory course for the spirit enthusiast who wishes to study in a structured way: the qualification will cover skills such as identifying spirit styles, main categories of spirits and service.
After completing the course, you will receive WSET level 1 certification.
WSET level 2
Embark on an intermediate-level journey delving into the world of spirits, tailored for industry professionals and passionate spirits enthusiasts. Designed for those eager to expand their knowledge beyond the basics, or build upon the foundational understanding from the WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits, this qualification offers a comprehensive exploration.
